How to protect your trees during...
WINTER
The winter dormant season is a great time to prune your ornamental flowering trees and valuable large shade trees because there are no insect or disease activities to infect the open wounds.
With the early flush of spring growth, the wounds made during winter will quickly begin to callous over.
Don't remove those older, tired-looking deciduous shrubs. They can be rejuvenated with a good trim!
Trees can be removed during the winter without damaging limbs or toppeling the entire tree.
A stronger, sturdier tree can hold more ice before breaking in the winter.
By removing deadwood, we reduce the damage due to insect and disease activity.
